Who said that only men can participate in speed races? Who said women are not capable? Capspeed Motorsport team certainly does not embrace this! Proof is, the participation of Georgia Zambeli in the rallies of 2011!
Although in recent years, she has become accustomed to being in the position of co-driver or in the service, Georgia Zambeli has “conquered” the position of driver! A decade ago, she tested her endurance in speed racing, proving that there is nothing a woman can do! Apart from being an experienced businessman, an amazing manager but also a necessary coordinator of the Capspeed motorsport team, Georgia also conquered the racetracks!
Accompanied by a mini 1000 -since she is a fan of classic cars-, Georgia took part in the hillclimb of Dimitsana. The route is quite demanding, something that did not discourage her! Her opponent, in this race, was her husband, Kostas Kapourelakos, who also ran a simca rallye 2, that turn the race into a “family affair”!
The rest of the year found her as Kostas’ co-driver in Alfeiousa rally and again a driver on the tracks of Tripoli!
2011 was a milestone year for her, proving that she can be valuable in all positions of a race! Either as a driver, or as a co-driver or as a valuable service assistant. It is difficult to choose what she likes to do best, since each position has its own requirements that make it special. She did not win a cup or a first place, but she did gain valuable experience and knowledge that have accompanied her ever since.
She herself, talking about this experience, urges all women to try it! “A woman can do everything, as long as she really wants it!”, She says specifically. In our time, rally cannot be considered a purely male hobby. Every woman has the right to participate, to gain the experience!
She was – and continues to be to this day with her participation – an example to be imitated! Encourage all the women who watched it, to pursue their dreams and do what they really want, regardless of whether it is considered a male affair or not!
