Capspeed team is pleased to present you a Ford Escort MK1 that was reborn, through its ashes, by the experienced members of our team!
Capspeed’s love of remodeling historic cars is well known. Like all cars that the team has either built or run, this one has its own story.
Ford Escort MK1, spent the last decades (!!) stored in a garage, waiting for its utilization. After an accident it had in his last race, it suffered great damage, at which point it was abandoned by his owner.
After almost 20 years, the owner decided to rebuild it, in order to use it not only in training, but also in the upcoming historic car races. For this reason, he turned to Capspeed.
As with any car undertaken by the team, radical changes have been made. It was completely dismantled, thoroughly washed and reassembled. The best, genuine spare parts for this model, were sought all over the world. With a lot of effort, we managed to collected them, in order to be placed in our Escort.
After the whole car was dismantled, its “rebirth” began. Its chassis, which had been rotted in some places, was repaired. Its mechanical and electrical parts were also improved and changed.
Its mechanical changes, such as the clutch and the short differential step, are the ones that will make the change in the races and will bring the success. Unfortunately, we cannot list them all! Since these are the “secrets of the profession”! But you can enjoy the performance of the Ford Escort MK1 in the next historic car races!
Its reconstruction is almost complete and is ready to be handed over again to its owner, so that they can continue their story from where they left it over 20 years ago…!
The reconstruction of the Ford Escort Mk1 has been completed and is, now, ready to return to the races. Its old glory is back, with the air of renewal! Its hood hides surprises, which we all expect to enjoy in its first race!
